eml-2-emlx is a mail file conversion utility.
It convertes the standard eml-files to emlx-files.
eml is a standard mail file format often used by e-mail programs.
emlx is the file format used by apple in MacOS Mail v2 and above.

With the full version can also create .mbox files, which you can easily import into MacOS Mail.
Importing emlx-files to MacOS Mail
You can easily import emlx Mail Files into MacOS Mail with a ‘smart’ trick.
Therefore check the ‘create .mbox files’ Checkbox and start conversion. Quit MacOS Mail and return to finder and navigate to your userfolder. Then open ‘Library/Mail/Mailboxes’ and copy the newly created .mbox Folders into it. To get MacOS Mail to create a new message-index, you now have to delete the file ‘Envelope Index’ which resides in ‘Library/Mail/’.
Then start up again MacOS Mail. Now MacOSMail will automatically import the messages (create a new Envelope Index file).
